- The 2024 edition is the 10th Vendée Globe, the first race won by Titouan Lamazou in 1989/1990.
- 40 skippers (34 men and 6 women) from 10 different nationalities will compete in the Vendée Globe 2024.
- The Vendée Globe is contested on IMOCA monohulls: Malizia – Seaexplorer is 18.28m long, 5-6m wide, with a 27m high mast and a top speed of 36+ knots.
- The Vendée Globe Trophy is 60cm high and 30cm in circumference and each winner receives his or her own trophy for life.
- The race record is 74 days, 3 hours, 35 minutes and 46 seconds, held by Armel Le Cleac’h since the 2016/17 edition.
- The 2024 Vendée Globe will be Boris Herrmann’s 6th circumnavigation of the world and 2nd attempt at the race. In the 2020/2021 edition, he completed it in 80 days, 14 hours, 59 minutes and 45 seconds.
- Since the launch in July 2022, Team Malizia’s boat Malizia Sea – Explorer has sailed an incredible 75,588 nautical miles (139,989 km) the equivalent of 3.15 Vendée Globe circumnavigations.
