As Wimbledon just finished for another year, the men’s tennis world moves on to the EFG Swiss Open Gstaad, which starts this Sunday, 17 July and runs until Sunday 24 July when the new 2022 champion is crowned.
The line-up for this year’s tournament is exceptional, featuring two players from within the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) top 10 - 2018 winner and Wimbledon 2021 finalist, Matteo Berrettini and defending champion, Casper Ruud. Dominic Thiem, winner of the US Open 2020 has also been confirmed as well as seasoned French competitor Richard Gasquet. The future of tennis is represented by young Bernese talent Dominic Stricker, who is aiming to break into the top 100. You can see the full line-up of players here.
In the official tournament magazine, Giorgio Pradelli, CEO EFG International reflected on what it represents: ‘’in its rich history, the EFG Swiss Open Gstaad has come to symbolise performance at the highest level.
