A trio of young stars from Société Nautique de Genève secure their spots for Paris 2024

Training the next generation to become the sporting elite of tomorrow is one of Société Nautique de Genève’s main ambitions, therefore they were delighted with the results achieved at the recent 2023 Sailing World Championships.

Over 1,100 athletes competed in sailing’s biggest regatta in The Hague and with the opportunity to qualify for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games at stake, the competition in all the classes was intense.

Maud Jayet secured the silver medal for Switzerland in an exceptionally tight ILCA 6 race and the Swiss pair of Sébastien Schneiter and Arno De Planta also won silver in the 49er category, after a close battle with their Spanish rivals that went right down to the wire.

The results guarantee all three sailors a place at next year’s Olympic Games in Paris, and the Société Nautique de Genève are justifiably very proud of their new young champions. We would like to add our congratulations and wish the talented trio the best of luck in their preparations for Paris 2024.
