The talented young competitive sailor Maud Jayet, European vice-champion and World vice-champion, is a very serious candidate for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. She won the silver medal at the European Championships, which took place at the end of November in Hyères, France, just a few kilometres from the 2024 Olympic Games venue. Maud put in a brilliant performance against a field of 95 competitors, sailing from the front even when the variable and difficult conditions did not make her race an easy one.
Another gifted young Swiss sailor, member of the SNG, and beneficiary of the ambition fund, Justine Mettraux, has also performed at the highest level during November 2022. Justine finished the legendary Route du Rhum in 7th place and was classified as the first woman in the IMOCA fleet after 12 days, 13 hours, 26 minutes and 35 seconds at sea, impressing the international racing community.
EFG is a long-standing partner of the Société Nautique de Genève (SNG) sailing school. Established in 1872 on the shores of Lake Geneva, today, the SNG is recognised as one of the most prestigious Swiss yacht clubs and has around 3,000 active members. The Ecole de Voile and the sailing team supported by EFG both foster young talent and the future champions of tomorrow.
