Pinta Miami constantly evolves their concept and for 2022 the fair moved to the historic Pan American Airways Hangar in Coconut Grove. The new waterfront setting provided a unique state of the art environment for a programme which was more diverse and transformative than ever. Some of the region’s most renowned curators selected pieces that highlighted the voices of individual artists and their social, cultural and ecological concerns.

Pinta Miami aims to blend the best of both physical and virtual worlds and in 2022 they built on the success of the interactive online programme by hosting Media Point, a digital platform offering more unique content, insights, live virtual tours and talks with experts.

The EFG Latin America Art Award in conjunction with ArtNexus was also presented at Pinta Miami’s EFG VIP preview evening on 29 November, to an audience of over 1,000 EFG guests, artists, gallery owners, art lovers and some of the world’s leading collectors.

Originally created to promote contemporary visual art and generate awareness of regional art fairs, the EFG Latin America Art Award is now in its 12th year. Victor M. Echevarria, Chairman EFG Latin America and Sanjin Mohorovic, Head of Latin America Region, EFG International were joined on stage by Diego Costa Peuser, Director and Founder of Pinta Miami and Celia Birbragher, Editor and Founder of ArtNexus magazine who announced the award. It was received by Myra Babenco Arnaud, from Galeria Raquel Arnaud in São Paulo, who represents the winning artist.

The winner for 2022 is Brazilian artist Carla Chaim’s transformative and highly original artwork ‘Carbon scratch black III’, selected at SP Arte 2022. This award is the acquisition from a nomination process in five Latin American fairs, and the winning artwork will be added to the growing EFG Latin America Art Award collection on permanent display in EFG Capital’s Miami office.

EFG’s sponsorship of Pinta Miami is now in its ninth year and our collaboration with ArtNexus and the EFG Latin America Art Award has run for over a decade. These long-standing cross-cultural partnerships allow us to invest in the future of the art and emerging talent in the regional communities where our business is focused.
