The EFG Swiss Open Gstaad dates back to 1915 and is one of the most traditional tournaments on the men’s professional tennis circuit (ATP Tour). Every July, some of the best elite players gather to compete on the clay courts of the Roy Emerson Arena and previous winners include the likes of Stefan Edberg, Roger Federer, Matteo Berrettini and reigning champion, Norwegian Casper Ruud.
Known as the ‘Wimbledon of the Alps’ due to its unique backdrop, the EFG Swiss Open Gstaad’s ethos is to preserve the best Swiss traditions and the event has a reputation for hospitality that means it attracts more than 20,000 visitors each year.
Our partnership will help elevate the tournament to the next level and Jeff Collet, Tournament Director, said at the launch: “We are extremely pleased to join forces with EFG and to develop the Swiss Open further in the long term. We are starting a partnership with enthusiastic people who want to contribute to the international appeal of the tournament”.
Franco Polloni, Head of Switzerland and Italy Region, EFG International, added: “We are delighted to partner with the EFG Swiss Open Gstaad, one of the most prestigious tennis events in Switzerland. It is a flagship tournament in the annual sporting calendar, and we hope that our involvement also serves to inspire the tennis stars of tomorrow, an important theme that underpins many of our partnerships at EFG”.
This year’s tournament runs from 16-24 July 2022. We will bring you regular updates as our plans develop and you can read more about the EFG Swiss Open Gstaad on the official web site.
